School Bus Safety Rules of Meghalaya
- The word “School Bus” have to be inscribed on the front and back of the bus
- If the bus is a hired one, there should be a hoarding showing “On School Duty” in front of the school bus,
- Every school bus should have a First Aid box and a fire extinguisher inside it to use at the time of emergency
- There should be horizontal grills fitted on every school bus windows for better student safety
- All school bus should have its name and telephone number displayed on the front and rear side of the bus
- A proper locking system should be there in every school bus windows
- Every school bus should have space under the seats to keep student’s bag
- A bus attendant, preferably a female one should be present inside the bus
- School bus students can be accompanied by either a guardian or a parent of students for ensuring better safety
- A school bus should undergo regular inspections by school authorities and have maintenance at the right time
