Uttarakhand State Celebrates 28th Road Safety Week
The Uttarakhand transport police and Dehradun police organizes several awareness programmes in Dehradun as part of 28th road safety week celebration. M.A. Ganapathy, Director General of Police, conducted a cyclothon on Jan 9 in order to flag off this event.
Dhirendra Gunjyal, Dehradun SP (Traffic), said that the cyclothon will have participation from youngsters and will go up to the Kothal Gate at the time of passing through Johri Gaon. There will be a special workshop on driving for auto rickshaw and tempo drivers at Police Lines.
Gunjyal informed that there will also be a workshop for city bus drivers during the week and an eye testing camp at Vikasnagar and Rishikesh under the surveillance of Rural SP. A meeting will be organised for principals and city school heads for discussing the ways by which road accidents involving students can be controlled.
For the awareness meet on Jan 14, invitation has been sent to Non Governmental Organization(NGO), trusts and senior citizens at Police lines. In addition to this, a puppet show and painting competition will be held in the city.
