RTO Issues Notices to Schools Failing to Complete Vehicle Inspection
The RTO issues notices to 800 school bus operators for failing to accomplish mandatory vehicle inspection.
Inspections were assumed to get over by the end of May before the beginning of academic year. The effort was a complete failure due to lack of support from transporters. An RTO official confessed that inspection deadline were already postponed twice.
RTO demanded explanation from the bus operators for the delay. Also they warned operators to complete their inspection as early as possible if they do not want any harsh actions like termination of service. Among 2800 school buses, 2000 buses have been issued fitness certicates.
"We have already given enough time to the transporters. Special camps were held at schools and colleges so that the bus operators do not have to visit the RTO office. Despite such proactive steps, a sizable numbers of buses has not been brought for check ups. Now, the operators will have to explain to us the reason for the delay on their part", said an RTO official.
Meantime, RTO has ordered its flying squads to conduct random checks of school vehicles in the city.
