N Kariyappa, senior motor vehicle inspector, said that the none of the buses had installed CCTV cameras, safety grills, fire extinguishers, first-aid boxes etc. as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court.

The BMTC authorities argued that they never violated any rules . And they added that they were planning to replace 1000 old vehicles, but the matter got delayed due to this sudden lawsuit.

These arguments were denied by the authorities as their buses were not painted yellow, no contact details displayed on the bus, and there was no board showing 'On School Duty'.
