RTO to put a Restriction on School Buses and Vans
The officials of Indore Regional Transport Office have decided to put a restriction on school buses and vans including auto-rickshaw which flout safety norms and put risk on student safety.
The drive is to be launched from the first week of July and will continue for next fifteen days. State transport minister Bhupendra Singh issued a directive for ensuring safety of school children.
There will be a delay in the beginning of the drive for Indore RTO as there is a shift of RTO Office from Kesarbag to Nayta Mundla area. "The shifting is expected to be completed this week, and we will launch the drive from coming Monday," they said, adding that the drive will continue till July 19.
According to the statistics of RTO office, there are total 4451 registered educational vehicles in the city which include 4084 buses, 367 vans and auto rickshaws. An inspection is conducted by a team comprising an SDM, traffic DSP and official from transport department.
The inspection include physical check of roadworthiness, condition of vehicles, height of foot board and presence of first-aid box and others. The drive will be conducted before the starting of every academic session.
RTO MP Singh said this year the drive could not be carried out due to Simhastha Kumbh Mela.VN:F [1.9.16_1159]RTO to put a Restriction on School Buses and VansRated 5.0 out of 5 based on 1 rating
