Boy Attempted To Kidnap While Walking From Bus Stop to Home
Los Angeles: Man with his 1980-model Chevrolet conversion van tried to kidnap a 11 year old boy. The incident took place on Thursday around 3.30 p.m. at Coronel Plaza and Via Margarita, authorities said.
The boy was walking from school bus stop in Palos Verdes Estates to his home. The man in the van approached the boy and to get his attention, asked him the direction to "the promenade."
When the victim began to assist the driver, he said that he could not hear properly and asked him to come closer to the van. The boy heard the sliding door in the passenger side open when he came closer to the van.
After the sliding door opened, he felt his back pack being grabbed. According to the statement from the Rancho Palos Verdes Police Department, someone was trying to pull him in to the van.
The boy was unable to see the second person. He quickly broke free and ran away from the suspect’s grasp. He went straight to his residence from the location. The van shifted quickly from the area.
Upon investigation, the victim confirmed that he had seen the same van on the location last Wednesday.
When asked about the description of the van, the boy said that it was full size and medium brown in color with a light colored horizontal stripe running down both sides.
The paint was faded in the van with miscellaneous areas of chipped paint along both sides. Closed horizontal mini blinds covered the rear windows inside the van.
The man who asked the direction is described as white, between 40 and 50, medium build with dark brown hair which is in a "buzz cut" hairstyle and tanned skin complexion.
Description of the second man is not known. If you have got any information, contact Palos Verdes Estates Police Department at 310-378-4211.VN:F [1.9.16_1159]Boy Attempted To Kidnap While Walking From Bus Stop to HomeRated 5.0 out of 5 based on 1 rating
