Annadata Shetkari Sanghatna Demands School Bus Service for Rural Students
The Annadata Shetkari Sanghatna demanded the provision of school bus services with CCTV cameras for students in rural areas. This request was forwarded as a result of the rape and murder of a schoolgirl in Ahmednagar.
The Sanghatna's office bearers mentioned that girl students need to walk a distance of 7 to 8km for reaching their schools. The Sangatna's state unit president, Jayajirao Suryavanshi, said that most of the girl students have to either go on foot or by bicycles. Also, he said that safety measures have risen right after the rape incident.
The Sanghatna members decided to lead a deputation of girl students from village to Mumbai for explaining the requirement of school buses to the Chief Minister and Transport Minister.
Suryavanshi also said that there are many families who cannot afford to buy books, bicycle etc. for their children. He also added that the road towards such schools are not having traffic at all.
Ashok Shinde, a village native said that they are anxious to send his daughter to school as the road is completely deserted and the rape incident adds to their fright.VN:F [1.9.16_1159]Annadata Shetkari Sanghatna Demands School Bus Service for Rural StudentsRated 5.0 out of 5 based on 2 ratings
